About the Journal

Applied Social Science Research publishes empirical, theoretical and policy-oriented scholarship that addresses real-world social questions. The journal brings together research from across the social sciences, valuing methodological rigour, contextual depth and findings that inform practice and public policy. Manuscripts are evaluated through double-blind peer review and published open access.

Mission

Applied Social Science Research seeks to advance knowledge in its field by publishing work of lasting scholarly value. The journal is committed to transparent and consistent editorial standards, to fair and constructive peer review, and to making the research it publishes freely and permanently available to readers worldwide under the CC BY 4.0 licence.

Editorial governance

Editorial responsibility rests with the Editor-in-Chief, supported by the journal’s editors, editorial assistants and an international editorial board. Every manuscript is assessed by an editor and, if suitable, evaluated in double-blind peer review by at least 2 independent reviewers before any decision on publication. All members of the board are listed publicly with their current appointments and areas of expertise.

Indexing and metadata

Article metadata is prepared in accordance with Crossref and JATS conventions, exposed to Google Scholar through standard bibliographic tags, and made available through the publisher’s OAI-PMH 2.0 interface for harvesting by indexing services and repositories. Citations may be exported in APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, Vancouver, IEEE styles, and in BibTeX and RIS formats.
